1. Spring Week of Prayer
Elementary:
We had a joyful and Spirit-filled Elementary Week of Prayer as our K-4 students explored what it means to be Marching with Jesus! Each day focused on a different letter in the word MARCH, helping our young learners take simple, meaningful steps in their faith:
M – Meet with God
A – Armor Up
R – Reach Out
C – Choose Jesus
H – Hope in Heaven
Our guest speaker, Kaley Hinson (Pastor Joel’s sister), brought each day to life with her contagious energy, interactive object lessons, and a strong, kid-friendly message of encouragement. She connected beautifully with our students, helping them see how they can walk with Jesus every day.
From laughter and singing to reflective moments and powerful takeaways, this week reminded us all that even our youngest students are capable of bold and faithful steps in their spiritual journey. We’re so grateful for Kaley’s leadership and the chance to “march” together as a school family.

Junior High & High School Week of Prayer Recap – “The Truth Will Set You Free”
Our Junior High and High School students experienced a powerful and transformative Week of Prayer with Néstor F. Bruno, Network Director of Spiritual Services & Mission at Kettering Health and of ministrycare.org. With a unique blend of theological depth and psychological insight, Nestor brought a warm, vibrant energy that truly resonated with our students.
Centering each message around John 8:32 – “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” – Nestor invited us to engage with truth, emotion, and God in honest, life-giving ways. Each day unfolded a new theme:
Monday – “I thought it was only me…”
Tuesday – “The law of contemplation: What you behold you become”
Wednesday – “A trip into the supernatural”: A Biblically founded look into the Great Controversy.
Thursday – “My emotions are my allies”: A deep exploration of emotional families and how they affect us.
Friday – “The pregnant pot”: A wonderful reminder that we can choose Jesus.
Beyond the chapel talks, Nestor went above and beyond—staying on campus throughout the day to visit classrooms, hold Q&A sessions, join students at lunch, and offer one-on-one prayer. His intentional presence and heartfelt messages left a deep impact on our school community.
We are incredibly grateful for the ways God worked through Nestor during this special week!

2. Family Worship
K-4: Marching with Jesus
Opening
Sing a simple praise song together like "I Have Decided to Follow Jesus" or "God will help me conquer my Jericho" to set the tone. Invite your kids to "march in place" as they sing.
M – Meet with God
Activity:
Have each family member find a quiet spot for 60 seconds. Come back and share how it felt to pause and be still.
Scripture:
Mark 1:35 – "Very early in the morning... Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed."
Discussion:
When do you feel closest to God?
Why do you think Jesus made time to talk to God?
Application:
Create a small “meeting with God” corner with a Bible, notebook, or prayer journal for your child to use during the week.
A – Armor Up
Activity:
Play dress-up with imaginary or real items as the “Armor of God” (Ephesians 6:10–18). Have fun naming each piece as you put it on!
Scripture:
Ephesians 6:11 – "Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes."
Discussion:
What does it mean to be strong in God?
Which piece of armor sounds most helpful to you right now?
Application:
Before school each day this week, say a short “armor prayer” together (e.g., “God, help me wear the helmet of salvation today!”)
R – Reach Out
Activity:
Draw a picture or write a note to encourage someone—maybe a neighbor, friend, or teacher.
Scripture:
Galatians 5:13 – "...serve one another humbly in love."
Discussion:
What does it mean to “reach out” to someone?
Can you think of someone who might need encouragement?
Application:
Deliver or mail your note, or send a kind voice message/video to that person.
C – Choose Jesus
Activity:
Play “Would You Rather?” with silly options (ice cream vs. pizza) and end with, “Would you rather go your own way or follow Jesus?”
Scripture:
Joshua 24:15 – "Choose this day whom you will serve... But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."
Discussion:
What does it look like to choose Jesus every day?
Is it always easy? Why or why not?
Application:
Create a family “We choose Jesus!” poster to hang on the fridge as a daily reminder.
H – Hope in Heaven
Activity:
Go outside at night and look at the stars, or draw a picture of heaven using your imagination.
Scripture:
John 14:2-3 – "In my Father's house are many rooms... I go to prepare a place for you."
Discussion:
What do you think heaven will be like?
How does knowing about heaven give us hope when life is hard?
Application:
Pray together and thank Jesus for the promise of heaven. Encourage your child to tell someone this week about the hope they have in Jesus.
Closing Prayer:
“Jesus, thank You for marching with us every day. Help us meet with You, armor up, reach out, choose You, and hope in heaven. Amen.”
5-12: The Truth Will Set You Free
Opening Thought:
Have you ever believed something that wasn’t true—about yourself, someone else, or even God? Sometimes lies trap us, but Jesus came to bring truth, and that truth brings freedom.
Key Verse:
John 8:32 – “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Supporting Scriptures:
John 14:6 – “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
2 Corinthians 10:5 – “…we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
Psalm 34:18 – “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
Discussion Questions:
What do you think Jesus meant by “the truth will set you free”?
What are some common lies people believe about themselves?
What’s the difference between “knowing” something in your head and believing it in your heart?
How does Jesus show us who we truly are?
How can truth help when we’re feeling anxious, insecure, or alone?
Activity: “Lies vs. Truth”
What You’ll Need:
Paper, pens, a trash can, and a Bible
Instructions:
Have each family member write down a lie they’ve believed (ex: “I’m not good enough,” “God doesn’t hear me,” “I have to be perfect”).
Fold the papers and place them in a pile. Take turns picking one (you don’t have to read your own) and discuss what the truth is that counters that lie—find a verse if possible!
After sharing the truth, tear the paper up and throw it away.
Celebrate with a cheer: “The truth will set us free!”
Application:
This week, when you feel stuck in a lie or heavy emotion:
Pause.
Pray.
Replace the lie with truth.
Encourage each family member to write a “truth card” to carry with them or tape to their mirror—something like:
“I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
“God is with me.”
“My feelings are real, but they don’t have the final word—Jesus does.”
Closing Prayer:
“Jesus, You are the truth. Help us to know You better, believe what You say about us, and live in the freedom You offer. Teach us to take every lie captive and replace it with the truth of Your love. Amen.”
